Is Travel Mastery A Scam?
In the vast world of travel resources and memberships promising the ultimate travel hacking secrets, skepticism is natural. Today, we're diving deep into the question: "Is Travel Mastery a scam?" This inquiry is not only valid but necessary in an age where digital platforms abound, and discerning the legitimate from the dubious is more important than ever. Let’s unpack what Travel Mastery offers, its credibility, and whether it lives up to its promises.
Can it really save you thousands of dollars when you consider the membership price? - Let us unpack the real questions we wanna ask.
Understanding Travel Mastery.
Travel Mastery is an online platform offering a membership that includes a comprehensive course on traveling smarter, saving money, and maximizing the travel experience. It's designed for anyone from beginner travelers to seasoned nomads looking to refine their travel hacking skills. With instructors like Jubril Agoro and Nathan Buchan, who have years of experience as they have both spent years traveling the globe, the Travel Mastery platform offers insights into various aspects of travel, from planning and booking to navigating foreign cultures and maximizing loyalty programs.
Furthermore, the greatest promise of travel mastery is their community, as they provide up-to-date information regarding the best deals and opportunities in the travel space.
Know the founders.
Let's begin with the company and its founders, Jubril Agoro & Nathan Buchan. Are they legitimate business owners or scammers?
First off, they are both very public and open on social media. Primarily, their personal Instagram accounts are @jubril8 and @world_nate. If you message either one of them, chances are high that you’ll get a reply. This seems as though they have nothing to hide. But for transparency’s sake, we will dig deeper.
Jubril has been posting about his life and sharing his love for travel since 2010 on his personal YouTube account, that's no longer active due to his passion project and business, Passport Heavy.
You can find his personal YouTube account here: https://www.youtube.com/@JubrilAgoro/videos. This, of course, proves his legitimacy as a person and the fact that he has been traveling for years.
Jubril’s Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jubril8/
Jubril worked as a digital marketer before he started traveling. He has partnered with many companies helping them grow their businesses online. He partnered with Tiffany The Budgetnista, and together, they grew the Live Richer Academy to one of the most successful financial education platforms to date.
He has since parted ways with LRA to focus his attention on his media company, Passport Heavy.
Passport Heavy is a successful travel media company. They showcase the world's most beautiful destinations not just on YouTube but broadcast on TV channels all over the globe.

IG: https://www.instagram.com/passportheavy
FB: https://www.facebook.com/PassportHeavy
TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@passport.heavy
Passport Heavy has partnered with many big brands such as Airbnb, the NBA, BAL, Visit Oakland and the NFL proving its legitimacy.
Nathan’s Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/world_nate/
Nathan worked as a plumber for many years before finding Jubril's original YouTube channel and deciding that a ‘normal’ life of 9-5 was not for him. He packed up his tools and purchased a Facebook advertising course off Jubril. He partnered with many companies selling their products through Facebook as “World Nate” (before Instagram was a thing). He also ran a YouTube channel during this time. But after taking the “influencer” route, Nathan decided he preferred to work more behind the scenes vs being a public figure, which led him to start E-Commerce Stores that sell cleaning products in New Zealand. Namely CleanPost and Dazz.
Nathan is now a family man living with his wife and daughter in New Zealand. As a family, they usually take 2 to 4 vacations each year at a fraction of the price that most people pay (Article: How We Saved 72% on a 5-night Luxury Family Vacation in Tropical Fiji).
As you can see, Nathan and Jubril live very open and transparent lives outside of Travel Mastery. They are willing to share everything that goes on as you quickly learn by following their social media channels. This consistency of transparency cannot be faked. Even with the latest A.I. tools.
Plus, they often meet up with those who are a part of the Travel Mastery community:
Knowing the Business
After becoming great friends and traveling the world together on and off for many years, Jubril approached Nathan with an idea to create a fun community and space to share their knowledge on how to travel so affordably and how they consistently pay 50%+ less than the listed prices of flights and hotels as they spoke about this privately almost daily.
Nathan was born and raised and currently lives in New Zealand. As Jubril is constantly on the move, Nathan decided it would be a good idea to set up the business in New Zealand so that he can manage the community support and ensure a good customer experience from his office there.
The idea was born, and Travel Mastery was named! They both met up in Los Angeles along with a film crew, and set out to create the best travel course on the market.
Meet The Team
Of course, Travel Mastery does not just consist of Nathan & Jubril. Here are some of the crew you might hear from —
Liz: Liz is based in the UK and has been working in marketing for almost 10 years alongside the likes of Jubril Agoro and Jon Penberthy. She is a linguist and is passionate about travel, having lived in the USA and Brazil.
Nia: Nia is based in the Philippines and does an incredible job at managing our Customer Service. If you send us an email, she is likely to be the first person you’ll hear from! She also shares a passion for travel and has more trips planned for the near future.
Nevena: Nevena was born and raised in South Africa and now lives in Sweden. She has her own agency and manages most of the social media content for Travel Mastery.
Nathan: Incredibly talented filmmaker, Nathan frequently travels with Jubril and Youri making Passport Heavy documentaries. He filmed and edited most of the content you see when you watch the Travel Mastery tutorials. You can view Nathan’s work here: https://www.instagram.com/nathwild/
Youri: Also an incredibly talented filmmaker who spends his time traveling the globe with Jubril, filming documented as they go. Youri is a master of the points game, which you will be learning throughout the course, and has taken many business-class flights and luxury cruises for very little money. You can view Youri’s work here: https://www.instagram.com/hola/

For example, you will learn how Jubril recently flew semi-private on a luxury Jet for less than the cost of a commercial flight at the same time. How to get 50% off your next restaurant meal. We have a detailed guide on how to get $1000 in free accommodation through Home Exchange without needing to do a swap. Plus the ins and outs of house swapping if you have a home of your own.

As an incentive to purchase the annual membership, not only will you save money, but you will get access to the Passport Heavy Travel guides as sold on the Passport Heavy website here: https://www.passportheavy.com/travel-guides.
3. Member-Only Community
Pitched as the most valuable asset of the Travel Mastery Membership, the community is simply a Facebook community of fellow Travel Mastery members. This is where all of the conversations, member meet-ups, and up-to-date deals are dropped.
Notably, this is where you will see many members share their wins, and you’ll soon be impressed by all of the members securing great deals around the world.
A sneak peek inside the community:
Credibility and Testimonials
The credibility of a platform can often be gauged by the experiences of its members and the transparency of its founders. Travel Mastery instructors, Jubril Agoro and Nathan Buchan, are entrepreneurs with extensive backgrounds in travel and digital marketing, lending authenticity to their teachings. Additionally, the site shares detailed case studies and success stories, illustrating the tangible benefits members have gained, such as significant savings on luxury vacations using strategic points redemption.
Is Travel Mastery a Scam?
Based on the detailed offerings, the experience and transparency of its founders, and the success stories shared, we hope to have revealed that Travel Mastery is not a scam. Instead, it is a legitimate platform aimed at educating travellers on how to navigate the complexities of travelling efficiently while saving money.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, while skepticism towards online memberships is justified, Travel Mastery presents immense value for the price of the membership on offer. The platform caters to the modern traveler seeking to master the art of travel through education, community support, and exclusive resources. As always, prospective members should conduct their research, consider their personal travel goals, and evaluate whether the offerings align with their expectations before joining Travel Mastery.
